Chef/owner Anthony Donatone brings 30 years of restaurant experience to Casa D'Italia. Anthony, born and raised in New York, worked in various restaurants throughout the United States and the Carribean. Working his way through the ranks, he gained first hand knowledge of the restaurant business. Anthony prides himself on creating dishes using family recipes with local ingredients.
Angeli, a Seattle native, has local Italian roots. Her great grandfather immigrated from Calabria, Italy, to Seattle. He was an early vendor at the Pike Place Market where he would deliver and sell his produce by the truck load. Angeli is currently the resident baker and gardener.
Anthony always planned on owning his own place one day. This dream came to life as he created Casa D'Italia after envisioning an intimate dining atmosphere, accompanied by great food, in an old converted Ravenna house.
Casa D'Italia, "The House of Italy" Market & Cafe, was established in September 2001 by Anthony and Angeli Donatone. They share a passion for cooking, gardening, great food & wine. They invite you into their dining room with your family and friends to relax and enjoy the family photos and New York memorabilia, along with the sounds and aromas that are Casa D'Italia. |
